What's better having a project for school over the summer or having a free summer? Honors students in this county are having to read and write over the summer due to the belief that students will loose the progress they've made during the year. Many students drop out of the honor program because they have nine to ten weeks to read multiple books and do multiple projects. It is unfair that honor students have to deal with this academic pressure. According to a study done by Ebbinghaus on human memory, you only remember 35% of what we learned, so therefore it is pointless to have these assignments.
