I have spent time recently imagining how the space where the staircase fountain once stood could look if we transform it into a living garden. The interest I have received from various student groups regarding how they might contribute to the upkeep of this site encourages me to keep moving forward with the proposal. My next step is to refine our design plans so we can present a clear vision to the administration.

Seeing this level of support confirms that many people share the vision of transforming the old fountain space into a place that produces sustenance for our community. It is heartening to realize that so many students and faculty value the idea of a collaborative green space on campus just as much as I do.

finally a good idea! keep it organic and local. so into this.
The fountain has been broken since my freshman year. just drain it and plant something instead. waste of space.
Make it happen. The campus needs more green stuff and less concrete.
fresh veggies for students?? yes please. groceries are too expensive
This would be so much better than that dried up old fountain. Bring some life back into the Union!

I would love to help out with this. It would be a great way to learn about gardening and actually do something productive on campus.
