Head and neck injuries may seem meaningless to teenagers and their self-aggrandizement parents. However, these injuries can cause severe pain and discomfort for the rest of the teenager's (not the parent's) life. I have experienced this in my own life. We must remember this when we make decisions for our children.

As an alum of Serra, I feel it is idiotic for the CCS to ban Serra from having a chance to go to CCS. Being apart of the '13 CCS Open Division Championship team, I had teammates who are going into their junior and senior years at Serra. It breaks my heart that they won't get the chance to live the experience that I had of having the opportunity of winning CCS. I leave off saying, this needs to change immediately so the future Padres can have a chance to have a great experience and have fun as brothers of the Padre Brotherhood

Don't punish the kids coming up in the Serra program for something they had no control of. It was Coach Walsh and his staff that made the decision. Shame on the CCS Commissioner for not coming up with a better way to handle this issue. Remember its about the kids and having a great experience being able to play football in HS and having that chance to compete in CCS playoff

Why would the Milpitas coach refuse to treat the consolation game as a scrimmage?

Don't go to Serra, but the ban is just dumb. Make them pay financial reparations, but don't ruin someone's high school experience because of a mistake

Although the decision not to play may be unjust on the administrations part, it is selfish and arrogant to punish student athletes and compromise their football career; Two wrongs do not make a right.

Everyone deserves a chance to play in the playoffs. Whoever makes it should qualify because of merit rather than lack of competition. The boys at Serra are outstanding players and deserve a chance to showcase their abilities in the playoffs
