I just don't understand why it is different for some people that commit murder.life life with prole out in 15 to 20 years o just don't understand my uncle has been in prison for my entire life and I'm 41 years old he has not been in any trouble in prison at all . He is not a threat to public.

I was once a prisoner at Madison Correctional with Ross Caudill and worked on a daily basis in the same dept. I was released in Dec 1998 after 11 years. I totally support Ross’ release.

I wholeheartedly agree that it is unforgivable to take another persons life I also believe that a troubled teen who had a tough childhood and having your father pass away when your 8 years old can be rehabilitated I visited Ross in 8/7/2024. He is not that same troubled teen. He is a man who lived in regret and has found God and invited him into his life. I’ve also heard from Many of the corrections officers Who had told me he doesn’t belong in prison. He truly is a different person I realize it’s a redundant statement but if I personally could turn back time I would change the outcome of that day not for just Ross’s sake but for the Brown family past present and future and also my family past present and future so much has been lost. God bless officer Browns soul and may he forever rest in peace

I am his great niece that he has never met 1 of 10 that he has never gotten to meet. I also have 3 children that he hasn't gotten to meet. His brother just passed away Feb 22 2024. And he doesn't know still on Feb 25 2024 because he is in solitary confinement. He made a mistake in his young adult like and I'm sure he has regretted it for all these years. He is an old man now he's not gonna be able to hurt anyone

This man has served his time. He is not a threat to society and revenge is not justice. My husband has worked closely with this man and statements made against him by those hurt by his crime are just no longer true. My heart aches for any victim or family affected by criminal acts, however we must all understand keeping this man further incarcerated serves no purpose. I believe forgiveness is part of healing. Please after nearly 50 years allow Mr Caudill’s release.

It is not about forgiveness, it is about the law of the land. He was sentenced to Life. All choices have a consequence - good and bad. We have taught our children this and our grandchildren. You make a choice and you live with the consequences.
I forgave him and prayed for him, even though I had not idea who he was when it happened. But that does not mean that I think he doesn't deserve the sentence he received.
As far as God is concerned, Ross needs to ask God for forgiveness and repent. As far as the family is aware, he has never shown any remorse to us or to the parole board.
I understand how hard it is to lose a loved one - through death like I did - or through their choices and they are taken away. But at least his family can visit him. Thank is more than we have the ability to do.

To all that want vengeance against someone that was young and made the mistake of a lifetime I would voice my opinion that you have succeeded. Vengeance is the Lords. He has made that very clear. Remember that if you can't forgive God will not forgive you and that my friend is not my opinion but God's promise. Give Ross his release. God bless

I was born, raised and graduated from high school in Lima, Ohio. The son of a City of Lima Fire Department Station Captain, I was raised to respect and appreciate law enforcement. I was just 14 years of age when Officer William Brown was viciously and senselessly murdered by Inmate Ross Caudill. I am currently a retired law enforcement supervisor and also from a second career as a supervisor with probation in Texas, accruing a combined service of nearly 41 years. Inmate Caudill does not warrant parole, as his intentional act deprived Officer Brown of his life and his family of their beloved husband, and loving father. This crime was cold and calculated in its scope and execution. I am requesting Inmate Caudill remain incarcerated for life, as his crime has shown him to be a threat to others, without showing sincere remorse. Respectfully submitted,

There must come a time when "enough is enough" I understand that all of the Brown Family will NEVER see Officer Brown in this world again, that they have missed him dearly, and my heart will always go
out to them, but Ross was just a BOY, and now he is an OLD MAN that I believe will never hurt anyone again.... I hope that even if the Brown Family never changes their mind about letting Ross out, that in some way they will find it in their hearts to forgive..... I have had a terrible tragedy in my life where I was terribly wronged by someone and it ruined most of my life..... and I never will get to see that person
pay for what happened to me, and it bothers me .... but it all gets sorted out in the end.... Ross has lost his whole life already too.... he will never get it back.... he will never know the joy of having children, he never got to say good bye to his family that has passed on either, so I would think that he deserves a little bit of compassion, he had a stinking life even before he made this terrible choice.... that may have even influenced his choice.... I ask for just a little compassion for Ross to live out the few remaining years that he has, to be able to possibly do some things to make an amends for what he has done....
