We the people, we the artists, are in unity against the unfair treatment of the artist, Odd Nerdrum by the Norwegian Government for Tax evasion. Odd Nerdrum is an International treasure, some even say a savior of the art world. He is a man of integrity and a stand against what many see as the essential emptiness of modern art and life. Too put a man of his age away in a prison cell for some dubious tax claims is unjust and unfair and a crime in itself. Odd Nerdrum is more than an artist, he is a symbol of pure individualism and that, in itself, is the highest hope for art and man. To put such a symbol away into some jail is a shame to humanity and a shame to art and a shame to Norway as a country. People commit serious violent crimes every day in the world and receive lighter or no sentences. As a whole, we the people stand united in defense of this international treasure and genius and we pray that he is treated with justice. To mistreat this man is to mistreat the soul of your own country and the soul of every artist and human.

What sort of country deprives a man of his Freedom and denies him the right to express himself through his Art? Norway, the last soviet state.
He is the nearest thing we have to a living Rembrandt. He belongs to the world, not just to Norway. They should be paying him to live there because he can provide them wonderful PR...if they just do the right thing.

A great artist of his quality should be exempt from the stupid tax laws!!!
The Norwegian Government has committed a crime of fear and pathetic ignorance to Odd Nerdrum who's work is loved and respected worldwide. As an artist myself, I may safely say we are not very good with money. As long we have a place to create art, that's all that matters. The the Norwegian court has punished NERDRUM for their paranoid belief that his work represents Norway. It doesn't, Mr Nerdrum's art represents the world! He was just born there! Please stop this archaic treatment, admit your mistake and release Mr Odd Nerdrum one of the finest artist your country has. And maybe take more vitamin D. I think you need it. Norway should commission work from the artist in compensation for his tax debts...or defer payment until the Nerdrum the artist becomes Nerdrum the estate....like France did for Picasso
I am a Brazilian artist , also I think unfair do such a thing, there are real criminals loose out there, and now they want to imprison an artist ?? Shame it's not fair !,

It is treatfull that in Norway the weak are punished while letting the billiardaires hide there money in tax oases. Shame on you especially Jens and now Erna.
