This is a petition, from the fans of the Los Angeles Lakers, for the removal of the head coach of said basketball team.
Mike D'Antoni is not the proper fit for this team and is not competent enough to handle the duties that were given to him. He is having an immense negative effect on the Lakers family as a whole: team record, coalescence, offensive and defensive structures, fan frustration, and psyche of Lakers players.
His lack of a proper personnel and understanding of player management has put the Lakers in a difficult situation that may seriously jeopardize the 2012-2013 season and potentially future NBA seasons for the Los Angeles Lakers.
As concerned Laker fans - who put fiscal, timely, and emotional investments into the Lakers - we demand that change for the better begin immediately, starting with the removal of Mike D'Antoni as the head coach.

FIRE D'ANTONI!!! Defense wins championships not the stupid pick-and roll offense!!!! Lakers are all about championships. Buss says he brought D'antoni to "bring back showtime" Screw showtime!! bring back defense and teamwork like the '09 and '10 teams. We are garbage right now, fire Dantoni bring Melo and a good coach and lets win some rings!!

his style of basketball has never won in nba history. His style does not value each possession and allows players to take low percentage shots early in possessions when they can get those shots later in the possession after trying to get a high percentage shot first. When coming down the stretch of a close game every possession counts and his style doesn't value each possession. Lets not even get into his defensive strategy.
We need a coach that knows how to run system that gets the best out of his players not one that runs a system in stubbornness and pride. Why does this guy keep getting jobs?
A trained monkey can do a better job of coaching.

While most of us could have predicted that D'Antoni would be a poor fit, we gave him a chance because the Lakers asked us to. It's time to move on. He had his chance. He's had 2 years and all he's proved is that he's a poor fit. His coaching style is rigid and does not take into account the kind of players he has to work with and the strengths of those players. Furthermore, that style is a poor fit for the best players this team has had for the past 2 years. It's time to let him go and to find a coach who understands both this team and the Lakers franchises.
