The judicial system has dropped the ball again. I've known this man personally. He always looked out for the little guy. No way he initiated the altercation. Its misfortunate his self defense led to the alleged outcome.

It's time for people of color. To get the same justice as others. Black lives matter too. It's never for us. Always against us. We deserve the right to protect ourselves too. Self defense is not, nor should only be considered against us. Because of race, color or creed. When will the system defend & or protect us from wrongful conviction? I pray this man is released.

I signed because too many times there are double standards for black men and non black men. Why can a non black man kill a boy and call it stand your ground but a black man that is jumped by four men and one dies in the fight can’t claim self defense or stand your ground.

I just watched John Dobbs police interrogation.
First of all he should have asked for a lawyer and not say a word. But what I got from him is that he felt free to talk because he defended himself. Also when he said "how long am I going to be here?." Showed me that he didn't do anything wrong except defend himself against four men. This is a travesty.

After hearing the account of this travesty of Justice I am appalled that this man not only was convicted but sentenced to Life If this is how Florida keys down it's definitely not a place I'd like to visit

I have signed this petition before and will continue to try and figure a way to help my childhood friend that I have spent countless hours with I have never once had to think if this was self defense John has never been violent at all he was raised right !! This is completely insane we need to find someone to just give some kind of help that's not afraid of going against FL state law

The REAL travesty is that there are thousands of John Dobbs behind the razor wire curtain.
