Having just seen Hollys story on CBS in the UK I'm shocked at how the U.S. judicial system treats such vulnerable young women. Of course there must be justice for victims but Holly is a victim in her own right. I'm a law student and would love to know if there is any additional support that can be given from this side of the pond to highlight Hollys case and many others who suffer similar injustice?

I am seriously saddened by Holly's story. CLEARLY, during her critical formative years, she was introduced to the opposite of unconditional love. That leaves a scar so deep, it's rarely recovered from. As a society, we need to recognize this epidemic and start TREATING these people rather than incarcerating them. I am good friends with one of Holly's brothers. Her being in prison for 3 decades now is truly horrible. It was terrible that people were killed here in NY state and in Georgia but Holly was a victim of this monster as well. He did the killings and used her as a lookout. Actual murderers do a lot less than 30 years. Why in God's name is she still rotting in prison??

This should've been a concurrent, not consecutive, sentence anyway. She's done more than her fair share of time behind bars.

Free those enslaved long before the legal system placed the bars in the way. Long term abuse has long term effects. Being controlled by another person is possible, such is this case. Holly has been a prisoner, in some fashion, her whole life. She was taken in, taken advantage of, abused, raped and her whole self taken over by a male in an authoritative position, only to be used further by him during illegal acts, then further abused by him in court. She's not absolute evil!! She's another lost child that only tried to survive. She is now a convicted killer because we, as a whole, did not protect her as a child. When I saw this story and saw how sincerely you broke down on national tv, it made me break down. I for one know what it is like to want a fathers love, to which never recive. I am a victim of physical and sexual abuse with severe manipulation tactics used on me. I am a nurse with 3 college degrees. I am well known im my community for my compassion and professional role. Holly is a victim in this case, until one can put themselves in her shoes and be empathetic, they will never understand. Its so easy to prosecute and lock someone up, but thats not the answer! Holly is clearly remorseful and was under a spell of control and fear. I could have been just as much capable of the crime if I was in her shoes. She has not even gotten to live yet and was dealt a tough life. She is not a murderer and keeping her imprisoned only makes the justice system the monsters!!! Her life was taken away at a young age, she deserves to be let free, and finally live! Victim of a pedo

If I could write Holly I would but I don't know how to contact her. I grew up in a similar situation and I believe her side of the story word for word. I can't believe that she got convicted of William Allens sick crime. It's no wonder he chose her over his own wife, he was sexually abusive and raping her. I know deep down she never wanted any of it. She lived such a rough life always asking out for help as I used to do. It pains me and breaks my heart. I only wish for her freedom. If I could I would hug her for hours and tell her it's okay to be gay, it's okay you are free now.

I was raised in 49 group homes from 8 to 17. I understand Holly’s mindset and hear pain. This is not Justice that she got, she is the escape goat here. Please understand that if you do not have experience in extreme circumstances such as ours, You cannot possibly understand the mindset of us. There is no help for kids like Holly, myself or any other kid thrown into bizarre living situations. Please free Holly. She will always be scarred and troubled, but not necessarily a criminal. Hi my name is Carla Hensley and I saw Holly's story on April 17th 2018 and I am pretty outraged about this case. Holly went through her young life horribly. Basically being thrown away like garbage which she isnt. Then she was raped repeatedly by this man which caused her to get pregnant with his baby and was forced to give her baby up and then this man involves her into his world of nothing but sadistic acts upon her and then drags her along which it was his plans of getting more money. And intent to kill for no reason but caused Holly was there she gets prison time for 'WHAT"? She wasinside the stores didn't pull the trigger nor plan any of the crime she was convicted for. Now my thing is was any of the law enforcement prosecutors judge that presided over this case or any of the jurors there to see weather or not she actially was involved in these horrific nurders? No. Law needs changing on cases like these all over the United States and ending of my comment. It's time to free Holly and I hope This Message gets to Holly. when you are free sue the hell out of the States of Georgia and New York City for false imprisonment and not doing their jobs of protecting you from abuse and neglect as a child therefore this would not have happened. The state of New York should be sued for the negligence of allowing a dependent to be permanently placed without supervision of the court. This negligence resulted in Holly's confirmed sexual abuse by her caregiver. Holly endured years of sexual, physical, and most likely emotional abuse, in addition to the abuse and abandonment she experienced prior by the adoptive family. Why are the effects of her abuse not taken into consideration? How is this not obvious?? Further, HOLLY WAS A MINOR. She was with her "parent" who she has been raped by continuously and violently. She has been subjected to abuse most of her life and unable to count on anyone including the state for help. How is she expected to have stood up to her abuser in this case? Did the judge and jury actually believe the man who adopted a child and raped her for years and legitimately believed at the time that what he was doing was ok? This case is so disturbing and highlights the injustices that are so common amoung abused children.

A person should not be imprisoned for a) an act they did not commit, and b) being the product of abuse. It defies all humanity. Holly should be free to recover and have a life. Let her go.

The way Holly had been done is a true injustice, how can anyone look at what she went thru, who controlled her, tortured her, and not see how wrong this is. You could see and feel the true remorse she feels!! HOLLY YOU ARE NOT NOTHING YOU ARE A STRONG, SMART, WOMAN AND YOU WILL OVERCOME!!

I’m absolutely outraged that Holly went to prison over this. Horrible call on the Prosecutors part. This should have never happened. I will participate in any way I can to see her released and rehabilitated.

I cannot believe this woman is still in prison!! Her sentence should have at least run concurrently!!! She shouldn’t have spent time in prison at all anyways!!! She was obviously a victim of a type of Stockholm syndrome. The “justice” system in the U.S. is not even about justice anymore, it’s only about winning the case no matter what or who it hurts!

I would like to write a letter to Holly, if at all possible. I just want her to know I know a lot her pain agree suffered. That she's not alone, and whole what she suffered through does not condone what happened, there are people out in the Free world that can empathize, understand and know her pain.

Myself and my family are victims of a murdered parent and years later I lost my daughter to murder, I have pretty much never ever had pity on anyone that murders another but I watched a show about Holly coomber and I understand what happened to her life and I see the hurt. Set her free.

Tragic in so many ways.

This is the first petition of this nature I have ever signed. My heart goes out to Holly as much as it does the families of W Allens victims. That man is void of emotion like I've never seen. Holly does not belong in prison. Damn sure not for a SECOND life sentence!! Gross miscarriage of Justice.

Holly I cried while watching the horrible way you were treated as a child. I did not know that you were sentenced to life. I hope the comment made by another supporter is inaccurate. I just saw Holly’s story on Women Behind Bars and I was so moved (and utterly disgusted because of that sick freak adopted father of hers) by her sad sad story. You can see the sadness and remorse for the victims in Holly’s eyes, I believe her with every ounce of my being and she should be free NOW

I just saw her story on this show called woman behind bars and wow she really does not deserve what she got at all! She was basically that guys hostage for alot of her life and then now she is in prison! Wow poor girl!

I just watched her story on women behind bars. I can’t understand how anyone could think she deserves what she got. Abused and manipulated from such a young age by her sick adoptive father, I feel for her. I feel for the families who lost loved ones but they need to try to understand why and how this happened.

Holly was a victim of the state who placed her in William Allen’s Care without doing due diligence to discover he was a filthy paedophilic and criminal and no follow up care on young Holly. The state should be ashamed of how they have treated this victim of abused caused by its own neglect. She was abused and under Allen’s coercive control, living in fear of him. Shame on the USA’s state department, family services and so called justice. The measure of a nation is how it treats its weakest members, you give yours to sadistic paedophiles then punish them for the sins of their so called carer. Nice society indeed...
