I really loved Freefonix when i was younger, my entire family is centered around music and art and creativity and this was such a bonding and exciting series. I remember the website and how there was the announcement that the Mantyz album was going to drop soon and how excited i was for some of their full songs (particularly 'Kiss My bass' because d a m n if that isn't my favorite) alas that moment never came.
Unfortunately the big reality is if you have virtual bands that aren't the Gorillaz they're not going to take off, we already saw this with VBirds - an old pilot cartoon (and funnily enough another one of my favorites) for a hip hop virtual band that premiered on Cartoon network in 2002 and released a CD single the following year but just disappeared off of the face of the universe as Gorillaz were stealing the spotlight in the Virtual band section of the music industry.
I am noticing small activity within the freefonix 'Fandom' such as more american viewers and fans now since the re-air of the series in the US, but its been very slow going, this would need a lot of funding and that never comes cheap, though nothing stops us from keeping positive 0/

was there actual count down to a mantyz album like actual because i see on the wayback machine.com that the freefonix site is up there but i can not access that like i really cant :L

Years ago when the site was still up I had purchased the Freefonix CD album which I still have today and treasure it with my life. There was also a countdown to the drop of the Mantyz album on the website and it never actually happened, so all these years I've wondered why.
Its not entirely fair that only Freefonix got their release and I'm sure financial problems weren't the jist of it, it would be amazing to actually get the Mantyz album finally after all these years as deserved. I miss this show, it was my childhood :( A comeback would definitely be interesting, their genre and sense of style and music was like no other, very unique.
