يوم الجمعة 11 – 2 – 2011 وقف العالم كله يتابع الشعب المصري وهو يخطو أولى خطواته تجاه حريته التي ناضل من أجلها ورحنا نستمع إلى قصص الشجاعة والعزة والقوة والكرامة والكثير من القيم الإيجابية الأخرى التي قام الشعب المصري بنقلها للعالم أجمع واضعا بذلك معنا جديدا للقيم المصرية.

والحق أن أي من هذا الفضل العظيم لا يعود بأي حال من الأحوال إلى الإعلام المحلي الذي كان منشغلا طوال الوقت بلي الحقائق وتضليل الناس عن الحقائق الأساسية للثورة، أما الصورة الإيجابية للثورة فلم تصل إلى العالم إلا من خلال المحققين والصحفيين الذي خاطروا بكل شيء من أجل أي يرى العالم حقيقة ما يحدث. ومن ضمن هؤلاء كانت الصحفية الأمريكية لارا لوجان التي تم الاعتداء عليها بمنتهى الوحشية بينما كانت تقوم بتغطية أخبار إقالة حسني مبارك. لارا لوجان (بالنسبة لنا، الشعب المصري) تعتبر ضحية للإعلام والنظام الفاسد الذي طالما سعى لكبت المظاهرات السلمية عن طريق إثارة الرعب ونشر الإشاعات المغرضة عن الإعلام العالمي. لارا لوجان بالنسبة لنا نحن الشعب المصري ليست أول امرأة يتم التحرش بها علنا وهي أيضا ضحية نظام طالما تخلى عن دوره تجاه المرأة المصرية بسبب عدم اتخاذه إجراءات رادعة وحازمة لمواجهة المتحرشين الذين يدعون أنهم من بني البشر.

ما حدث للوجان لا يمثل فقط تهديدا للسياحة ولكنه تهديد لطبيعة الشعب المصري نفسه فالسياحة قبل أن تكون مجرد زيارات لأماكن تاريخية شهيرة فهي تتعلق في المقام الأول بروح الضيافة والمودة والتسامح التي تميز الشعب المصري. ولهذا فنحن نرى أنه من واجبنا أن نطالب باعتذار رسمي وعام بالإضافة إلى تحقيق سريع ومكثف لكشف جوانب الواقعة التي أدت إلى هذا الاعتداء.

في السابع من فبراير سئلت لوجان عن السبب الذي دفعها إلى العودة مرة ثانية إلى مصر بكل هذا الإصرار فردت: "إنه لمن الصعب علي أن أظل بعيدة هكذا عن الأحداث. أشعر أنني قد فشلت لأنني لم أقم بإيصال الأخبار."

نحن نطالب باعتذار فوري وعلني للوجان بالإضافة إلى تحقيق في هذا الحدث لأننا لن نسمح لهذه القلة المنحرفة أن تلطخ صورة مظاهراتنا السلمية وإلا سنشعر أنا قد فشلنا في إيصال القيم الحقيقية للثورة

On Friday 11-02-2011, the whole world was watching Egyptian people taking their first steps towards their fight for freedom. Stories of courage, pride, strength, dignity and many more positive values were transferred from Egypt to the whole world setting a new meaning for "Egyptian Values".

Conveying the revolution's positives cannot be attributed to the national media, which was busy distorting the truth and confusing the people about basic facts. The real positive image of the revolution reached everyone in the globe thanks to many journalists and reporters, who risked everything to help the world see the truth. Among them is the American reporter Lara Logan who was brutally assaulted while covering the resignation of Hosni Mubarak. To us "real Egyptians", Logan is a victim of a corrupted media and regime which tried to suppress our peaceful revolution by inciting fear and spreading rumors about the role of foreign media. To us "Egyptian women", Logan is not the first woman to be harassed in public and is again a victim of a system which failed the Egyptian women for so long by never taking a strong and firm stance against those attackers that call themselves human-beings.

What happened to Logan is not only a threat to tourism, but a threat to the very nature of Egyptian people. After all, tourism in Egypt is not only about world-famous historic sites, but also about the hospitable, friendly, and tolerable nature of Egyptians. It is therefore our duty to call for a public apology and a proper and rapid investigation into the events that led to this assault.

On Feb. 7, Logan was asked why she was trying so hard to go back to Egypt and she said, "It's very hard for me to be away from this story, I feel I failed because I didn't deliver."

We are calling for quick and public apology to Logan and a proper investigation because, "We will not let those corrupted "few" tarnish our peaceful revolution, we will feel we have failed because we couldn't deliver the true values of our revolution."
