Everybody should have the right to decide what social care they need and who provides it. In Britain this is not the caes fore many vulnerable people. In spite of the Government white paper "Our Health Our Care Our Say" mthe vasty majority of local authorities still insist on determining what social care they will provide and hope the person can adapt to meet the require,ents of the services being provided This petition calls for an end to this paternalisstic patonising way of providing social care , and calls for legislation to compel local authorities to offer freedom of choice in the services being provided and provide a propper consultation process for service provision.
