Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council's Freedom of the Borough is the highest award it can bestow on an individual and given the immense contribution that David Roberts, has given to the field of sport in Wales and the United Kingdom, we, the undersigned, believe it is time that he is rightly recognised by the Council.

David Roberts CBE is one of the country's most decorated Paralympians, having won 11 gold medals, four silver and one bronze, and he is also been an extremely strong advocate for disabled rights, having addresses the Human Rights Council in Geneva on the matter.

David Roberts has spent his life breaking barriers and it is time the Council acknowledges that leadership. I am currently reaching out to local representatives to ensure this proposal reaches the proper committee. Call your local councillor today and tell them why this recognition is long overdue.

Amazing man who is such an inspiration to both the able bodied and disabled. Would love to see him awarded this for all his dedication.

Think david should get this award as he's a great role model for children and has earned the right for this award.

"Dai Splash" has been thoroughly unrewarded compared to others of similar success - time to change that

I don't live in RCT myself, but can think of no-one more deserving of this honour. A great sportsman and ambassador for RCT, Wales and Great Britain.

Long overdue and thoroughly deserved, David Roberts is a bonafide Welsh sporting legend.

His talents and awards have been overlooked for too long. He has done his country proud and should be honoured by the council. His medal awards alone have placed him as one of wales most decorated swimmers.

A very deserving individual. Just hoping that RCT Council will agree!
