This petition was created as a Global effort by Blogs and Websites for the recognition and release of 22 Cuban political prisoners, including an Independent journalist who sewed his lips shut to protest his treatment. Juan Carlos Herrera Acosta, 42, is a journalist serving 20 years at the Holgun Provincial Prison after being swept up in the 2003 crackdown on dissent.
