This petition is in opposition to the new initiative from the Minister of Employment, Social development and Multiculturalism Jason Kenney that charges every musician from the U.S. and beyond an extra cost to perform in Canada. Although we are aware that we have many excellent musicians in Canada the choice to bring in musicians from other places is being hampered by this tax and in some cases it will be impossible for the smaller venues to book people from places other than Canada. Please sign this petition to help music venues bring in acts from outside of Canada and keep the music scene in Canada vibrant.
