Rescind the deportation order against Petar Zivanovic
Please show your support for our friend Petar Zivanovic and sign this online petition demanding that the motion for his deportation be rescinded and that he be allowed to stay in the United States. Petar Zivanovic was born in Serbia on June 22nd, 1986 and brought to the United States by his parents at the young age of 5. 16 years later, and a week after celebrating his 21st birthday, Petar was taken in by police and placed in a deportation correctional facility. Over the years, the necessary paperwork to legalize Petar\'s stay in the United States was never fully completed. As a child, these decisions were made at the hand of his parents and Petar regrettably had no choice in the matter. In 2005, Petar\'s father was deported back to Serbia after establishing a life with his family in the U.S. for 18 years and being held in a deportation facility for almost 2 of those years. In recent years, Petar has made countless attempts to reopen his case, and all motions have been dismissed. Unfortunately, Petar does not possess the necessary documentation to enter Serbia, even if the government decides to deport him. Thus, he could end up staying in a U.S. prison for years- innocently paying the price for something he is not guilty of. In Serbia, mandatory entry into the army awaits Petar. He does not speak his native language of Serbian and his life in Serbia would consist of living under negative conditions. Nonetheless, his family did come to America in hopes of a \"better life\". Petar has established a happy life in the United States. He was surrounded by the rest of his family, supportive friends and loving girlfriend. He is intelligent, ambitious, full of life and loved by many who are devastated to see him under these circumstances. Therefore, our attempt is to give voice to a deserving young man, a voice to a matter which is worthy of recognition and we hope to reach the right medium in our efforts. So, we ask you to help us give Petar a chance at freedom. His friends and family are reaching out to senators and various news outlets. Help us help Petar and give him a fair chance at a trial; so he can prove his worthiness in this country; so he can speak for himself and his voice can be heard outside his jailhouse walls. ***The donation requested after singing the petition do not go towards Petar\'s cause; it is a donation towards the iPetitions website.***
