Hengameh is finally free and back with her family. I cannot find the right words to express what this means to me after such a long and painful struggle. Thank you for staying by my side and helping me bring my friend home.

Your Excellency,
Hengameh Shahidi is a respected Iranian journalist known for her fair and objective reporting on issues which effect many ordinary Iranian people. She is at present held
in Evin prison, though she presents no threat to Iranian National Security and has never committed any crime. She is a good Islamic woman proud of her Iranian heritage, and a dear friend of mine.
I amongst many others who have signed the petition attached to this letter, respectfully implore you to review her case, and safely return her to her family and friends as soon as possible.
In writing this letter we cast no aspersions as to the legitimacy of the Iranian government. We only state that by some dreadful mistake an innocent woman is in desperate need of your help.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
Miriam Elia
(Chief Organiser of the Free Hengameh Shahidi campaign).
Seeing two hundred and fifty names on this list brings me such relief because Hengameh is not forgotten. My dear friend needs us to keep pushing until she is home safe with her family.

I have found more than one Petition; each with hundreds of signatures. Is there not a more central response?

Evin prison is no place for a journalist. Please release her before it is too late.
