Thousands of young adults around the United States have a high school level education and nothing more. The main reason for this is that college is too expensive for many people in this country. Just having a high school diploma used to be good enough in the work force, but now if you want a good paying job to support you, you need to have a solid college education as well. This is a large problem in the state of Hawaii. Many people cannot afford to go to college in Hawaii let alone leave the islands and go to college elsewhere. This leaves a lot of local residents struggling. If community and public colleges were made free, so many of these people would be able to gain a college education and not come out with thousands of dollars in debt. If you would like to see this be made a reality I encourage you to sign this petition. We plan on sending this to a representative of Hawaii and hopefully they will push it up the ladder that is our government.

We, the undersigned, would like the university of Hawaii system to make public and community colleges tuition free.

Living here is already so expensive. How are we supposed to pay for school on top of rent and gas? This would help so many local families.

Education is a necessity not a luxury.
