There is no reason for that man to be in prison other than government greed. The only thing he is guilty of is helping the American truckers when the government only tries to kick us while we are down.

I support the release. This is absolute tyranny for the government to tell people how they need to drive their vehicles.

We should free Troy Lake because he’s not a criminal—he’s a hardworking mechanic who dedicated his life to keeping essential vehicles like fire trucks, school buses, and farm equipment running safely and reliably. His actions weren’t about greed or harm; they were about helping his community and supporting the people who keep America moving. Punishing a man for fixing what keeps others alive and working is not justice—it’s government overreach. Troy deserves freedom, not prison.

This issue played a major factor for me to shutdown my independent trucking operation. That emissions regulation left me on the side of the road many times resulting in tow bills causing tow bills in the thousands of dollars. Often the problem was the result of an overpriced $200-$300 sensor or worse.
Often my truck would be in the shop on repairs for weeks at a time; because of repair backlogs, mechanics could not pinpoint the source of the trouble and lack of parts availability!
I often was face with downtime of a problem that ended with being false negative error codes that resulted with downgraded operational performance.
My truck was a 2016 Peterbilt model I bought new (not my first) that ended with in 400K mile range. Often times the manufacturer’s warranty did not cover cost of the emissions repair. Once the warranty ran out, repairs were more significant each time the after treatment system failed.
Cost of repairs even when covered by warranty, operational downtime of frequent repairs, tow bills, loss of business resulting from missing time critical schedules due to emissions breakdowns; is devastating for the independent owners. On top of that, emissions equipment adds ten of thousands to price of trucks compounded by maintenance and repair costs. That is a huge issue to deal with in an already troublesome over regulated industry to start with.
Another issue that few talk about concerning the Diesel Exhaust Fluid required used is more harmful for the environment than the NOX emissions regulators sought to reduce. The DEF is very caustic and poisonous in of itself. DEF emissions, as shown by studies, that it is damaging to flora and trees along densely traveled highways and roadways.
I have 20 years and nearly 2 million safe miles in my trucking career. I hope this movement becomes supported by OOIDA.
God Bless America and this movement. These types of regulation work against our responsibilities towards good stewardship on our environm

It’s needed so much, I just been through a 2024 that went out because of emissions control system and got a 25 that died one month after with 9489 miles on it with same exact issue. I went home and got into my 05 Pete and 1.7 million miles on it it runs much better than a new truck. Very sad!
