As an engineer (MSc Mechanical Engineering), I have documented the marginal gains of EPA-mandated emissions systems on diesel engines. Mining trucks, with 60 liter displacement engines, eventualy ended causing more NOx contamination when using EPA-mandated emissions systems, instead of diesel fuel additives. It is best and easier to get the refineries to produce low sulphur diesel (15 ppm) and have the users utilize additives, than having an entire industry going down just because of the non-sense of beaurocrtas....
