Thank you Parks for your efforts to study and plan for daylighting. Why wouldn't we do this? Come on CSX, get with the community's plan . Do not make us have to try to sully your reputation.

Van Cortlandt Park is a treasure that has suffered neglect and highway bisections, it needs to be restored and treated with respect as a rare and vital piece of nature in the northern Bronx (and southern Westchester). A sewer is no place for a brook!

This beautiful park needs this rehab of Tibbett's Brook desperately for so many reasons - it is long overdue.

If they'd known then what we know now, the brook would not have been sent into a sewer pipe. I'm reading Stephen DeVillo's book about the History of The Bronx River, which reveals how that river was polluted, even back in the day when we should've known better.

I grow up in these parks 40 plus years. I call it my second home. The beauty and amazing scenic views of nature. I had seen Turtles burying their own eggs, a Hawk feeding off his kill, swan by lake. Its been a fitness location with fantasic trails and tracks.
Why disturb the beauty of nature that has been here for centuries. Please preserved Van Cortlandt for its natural beauty it has offer us.

It does not make sense to pour clean water into the sewer system. When it rains, the sewers overflow and raw sewage is dumped into our rivers, which damages the ecosystem. Daylighting the Tibbetts Brook would alleviate that problem, not to mention making the area through which the daylighted brook would flow more attractive.

Daylighting Tibbetts would reduce the CSO problem, reduce the burden on the treatment plant, and beautify a neglected, yet centrally located area of the Bronx.
