Please release this tea. Tea is a cultural commodity, and this is not simply a monetary issue. Blocking this tea from import is a slap in the face to those at Mei Leaf who work hard to promote Chinese tea culture within the UK as well as abroad. Puerh tea is an agricultural product, and understandably precautions must be made, however I urge your agency to consider the hard work of the mei leaf team. Don’t take my word for it though, head over to the mei leaf YouTube channel and look at the education that Don and his team have brought. Consider how much cultural exchange has happened through this method of dispersion.
The UK prides itself on cultural appreciation, and releasing this tea would be a wonderful way to show not only UK citizens but also global citizens, including the Chinese people, American customers, and European customers, that the UK is fertile ground for international cultural and economic exchange.
Please consider the impact this will have on those hoping to import from China in the future as well as the message this sends to Chinese tea merchants and farmers.
Thank you for your work monitoring imports, and please consider this message. Let common sense prevail and look at the established history that Mei Leaf has in compliant imports. There is no reason to suspect mischief here.
Thank you kindly.

There is absolutely no reason to hold this at customs and destroy it. It’s blatantly clear there is nothing ellicit within the packaging, and to destroy it would be an utter waste of a rare product many people are waiting for.

A lot of people will miss-out on a great tea - myself included. It just is not right that a single mistake such as forgetting a single word (especially when it is obvious it was not meant to hide or smuggle anything) will punish a great deal of us tea-drinkers.

Pls don destroy this shipment of tea. It is of very high quality and produced by tea farmers and their families with love and passion and you can taste that in the cup. By destroying these teas, you are destroying someone’s love and devotion to their craft.
