This petition has been started for the owners and residents of 65, 75, and 85 East Liberty Street.

I am an owner in 75 East Liberty (King West Codominiums) and after just a short period of time I have noticed a number of "issues" with our new building.

The purpose of this Petition is to give us the rooftop terrace of our building back.   Shortly after moving into the building I made a trip to the "Rec Centre", quickly I discvored that the beautiful rooftop terrace (which was a factor in my purchase) will not be made available to us for usage...We will have to "rent" or pay a fee to use this space. I don't know how much the fee will be yet, however I have heard it could be around $200-$400 dollars plus the cost of renting secuirty and as much as a $1000 deposit.

Considering we have 1400 units in our building, it seems to me that it will be tough to actually book the room even if you are willing to pay the fees. That being said, I believe that we can all share the room as a common area.  If somebody wants to book a party, they can have the area on the inside, but people will still be allowed access to the area to sun tan and barbecue. I have seen this set-up in other buildings downtown and it works fine. Buildings with this set-up are known for their rooftops and usually this is the favourite feature of the building to it's occupants. I have been told that when the Condo Corporation "takes over" that a lot of things in the building will probably change. I don't want to wait a year or two for that to happen. I figure if we can get enough people to sign this petition and complain to property management, they will have no choice but to honour our wishes.

So please sign this petition if you wish to have the rooftop made a communal area that we are allowed to access at anytime, without signing it out!

In addition please feel free to add your comments in the Blog section.  I am open to editing this wording, adding to it, or starting other petitions.

Thanks for getting involved!
