Free the cats! Let them be able to come indoors and outdoors. The humane society of durham will not allow you to adopt a cat if you tell them that you want to let the cat go outdoors. Most cats that are "indoor" get declawed, which is extremely painful for them. But that is acceptable according to these animal lovers. They make claims that if you allow your cats outdoors, they will be eaten by coyotes, poisoned, or be at the mercy of cruel torture. This is crazy thinking! It might happen, but I can assure you this is not a common occurrence. I have had outdoor cats all my life, and live where there are coyotes and not one has been killed, or tortured or poisoned ever! I am sure there are horror stories of cats that have been left outside, however there are more positive stories.
