Free Tahmineh Monzavi

A young photographer, Tahmineh Monzavi, has been jailed for the past six weeks. She has not been charged with any offense, and has been denied due process, which is a violation of the United Nations conventions of human rights. Like many activists in Iran, her civil rights have been violated. No government official has released news of her status nor has any government representative stated what if anything Monzavi's infractions were against the state. Her family and friends and the community of artists around the world are concerned about her safety and liberty. We, the undersigned of this petition, demand the Iranian government to release her immediately and at the least, give her access to legal counsel. The International Assemblies of Art are keeping track of her status at this time.
