ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਿਆਂ ਪਾਲਿਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ (ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ) ਦੇ ਮੁਕੱਦਮੇ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਪੱਖਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ 1987 'ਟਾਡਾ' ਕੇਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 2015 'ਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਦਕਿ ਇਸੇ ਕੇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਨਯੋਗ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਾਇਜ਼ਤ ਬਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਕੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਗੜ ਰਹੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਓਹਨਾੰ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗੇ, ਸਾਫ਼ ਅਕਸ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਹਨ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਵਰੇਜ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ 'ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤਗਰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਭੰਨਤੋੜ ਸਰਗਰਮੀ (ਰੋਕੂ) ਐਕਟ' (ਟਾਡਾ) ਦੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ (ਜਿਸਦੀ ਮਿਆਦ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ) ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਫਰਵਰੀ 2015 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ 'ਚ ਥੋੜੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਨਜ਼ਰਬੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 2015 ਵਿਚ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਬਾਲਾ (ਹਰਿਆਣਾ) ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੜ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਥੇ ਓਹ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਨਜ਼ਰਬੰਦ ਨੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਂਚ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਉਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ' ਤੇ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।

We, the signers of this petition, urge the judiciary and the Government officials to undertake all efforts to ensure fair trial to Surinder Singh (Journalist) and urge the Courts to grant him a speedy trial and immediate bail.
Surinder Singh was arrested in October 2015 in a case dating back to 1987. All others named in the FIR have been released. We believe that Surinder Singh should be given bail on immediate basis considering the date of the case and the FIR registered against him. Despite diminishing health, Surinder Singh has not been provided bail yet.
Before his arrest, Surinder Singh was providing coverage to social and human rights issues. He is a well-established journalist and media personality. Even though the statute of ‘Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act’ (TADA) has expired, it has been used against Surinder Singh. Surinder Singh was earlier detained in Punjab in February 2015, however in October 2015 the arrest took place in Ambala (Haryana).
We impel the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Government of Haryana to expedite Surinder Singh’s court hearings and allow him to be released on bail until further investigations are going on.

Free media is a strong piller of true democracy . Punjab Badal Government is a voilator of freedom of speech right of Punjab people. They have imprisoned so many human rights activists like jurnalist Surinder Singh. They must be freed to uphold constitutional fundamental rights.
Surinder Singh is a journalist and an honest one too . He has been arrested under a fake case to stop him doing his work . He should be given a fair trial and fully access to justice , becuse he is just doing his work for the sake of Democracy and Human Basic Rights .
I met Surinder singh when he was covering gurbaksh singh on hunger strike at Gurudwara Amb Sahib Mohali . He always raise voice against something going on wrong surrounding. I seems that I met great personality in my life .
