We, the members of the Whodatnation and fans of the NFL, appeal to Commissioner Roger Goodell to decrease the severity of the penalties he has issued against the New Orleans Saints. Specifically, we believe the suspension of Sean Payton for an entire year is extreme. We understand that a statement has to be made regarding player safety, however you have singled out the Saints for punishment when it is well known that this team is not the only one involved. Suspensions for games are reasonable. Fines for the team are reasonable. Taking a team out of contention for an entire season is above and beyond. We request you reconsider the harsh nature of the punishment and decrease the suspension time for Coach Sean Payton.
