I am signing this petition in support of Richard Stahursky because I believe that his life sentence is a severe injustice. Richard has clearly expressed deep regret for his actions, which arose under extraordinary and traumatic circumstances. He has endured a tumultuous past, marked by being wrongfully convicted for a crime he did not commit, served years in solitary confinement, and dealt with untreated mental health issues rooted in severe childhood trauma.
At the time of the incident, Richard was placed in an environment that triggered his past trauma without any support or guidance to integrate back into general prison life. His isolation, mental health struggles, and a lack of proper legal representation contributed significantly to the unfortunate event leading to his conviction for Mr. Micah Boland's death.
Richard has made efforts for rehabilitation, getting his high school diploma, and engaging with his family and community through the support of his fiancée and children. He has shown significant personal growth, and it is clear he no longer poses a threat to society. Richard deserves the chance to reintegrate into society, correct his past mistakes, and be there for his family.
Given these considerations, I strongly advocate for Richard to be resentenced to a term that reflects time served or to be made eligible for parole. Redemption and rehabilitation are possible, and Richard's case deserves thorough reevaluation. Please join me in supporting Richard's journey towards a fair and just outcome.

In my opinion I dont belive this man deserves to spend pretty much the rest of his life in prison considering all he did was take away the possibility of the sex offender offending another child

It’s true. Most assaults on SO are because the prison places them where they shouldn’t. As a former inmate time and time again these SO would be told to leave if not bye bye. Praying for Mr Stahursky.
