Ray was released May 25, 2021 after essentially being forced to plead nolo contendere to 2nd degree murder. All the evidence and coverage of his case says he is actually innocent. His attorney could have held out for the judge to order a new trial, and in the interim apply for immediate release on appeal bond. There is likely no way Kym Worthy could retry this case, and she would have to drop the charges.

This innocent man needs to be released from prison immediately. Its insane how the justice system is unfair to people of color. To give a man a life sentence who has served 48 years of his life based on a flawed justice system from the lower courts up to the highest courts of the land is shameful.
