In order to arrest someone, the police only need to have probable cause. Our community worldwide need to know the real cause regardless of if the arrest is done with a warrant (by writing out an affidavit to a neutral and detached magistrate, who will decide if probable cause does indeed exist) or without (under exigent circumstances, police can arrest without a warrant and if they believed they have probable cause, they must present Mr Faiz Shafeek to a magistrate within 48 hours to explain the arrest and the probable cause used for it, at which point the magistrate will essentially approve or disapprove the arrest).
