we pay taxes for students to learn, we don't suspend them for showing up eager to learn, we suspend them for not showing up and skipping school, you people running this district need to get your priorities straight!

I know this young man as an intelligent, caring and genuine person. He does not deserve such a harsh and spiteful "sentence" for peacefully protesting.

You want kids to think independently. You want kids to stand up for their rights and the rights of others. You want kids to use peaceful protest. So when he does it, even perhaps with some questionable judgement, you throw him out of school? Maybe I missed the NY school system teaching moment here?

Wm. Floyd, the man who signed the Declaration of Independence would never condone the actions the school has taken.

Lockdown is unconstitutional and not neccessary. I dont care what his methods were as long as they weren't violent. Parents and students who are still afraid of this BS should stay home. Mass class action lawsuits for all.

As a 1989 graduate of William Floyd I am beyond appalled at how the District chose to strong arm a student into submission. Further their actions have spurred and emboldened a student body and the community to join in the bullying of a student engaging in civil disobedience. They should be ashamed of themselves. The lesson they are teaching is not what education should be about.
