WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? THE FAMILY SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE ONE TO CALL ANIMAL CONTROL IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM. PLUS THE JUDGE ALREADY RULED AND NOW AN OVERZEALOUS PROSECUTOR IS ADDING FRIVILOUS WORK ON AN OVERCROWDED SYSTEM? I FEEL THIS DOG

There is NO reason this dog should be put down. The kids need to be better informed by their parents. The kids were doing what kids do play and the dog was doing what it was meant to do - PROTECT. The dog can't determine between play and a real threat.

Where has common sense and compassion gone? Do you really need to murder a dog who thought someone was trying to hurt his family? He didn't know it was just kids playing. The family will make sure this doesn't happen again. A death sentence should not be the only option for a loyal, loving member of the family. He deserves a second chance. One wrong mistake should not mean you must die. If Marley does die can you imagine the guilt that these two children will have to deal with probably for the rest of their lives? This is unbelievably an over reaction of a dog reacting to what he thought was a threat. No serious injuries were sustained, only two kids being kids, and the dog does not need to pay with his life for this understandably innocent situation where he only thought he was defending his family. Don't make this situation so much worse by over reacting and do what cannot be undone by killing this sweet dog.

This dog's family should be the ones to decide whether this dog is dangerous or not, not a call from a nosy neighbor.

Marley was just protecting his child. Please let him go home. If the parents of the older child/owner understand what happened. Lesson learned. No need to punish the dog for a humans mistake.

It's the family who should decide how to handle the dog since they are familiar with the circumstances of the bite and since it was a family member and not a stranger.

This dog was only doing what his instincts told him was right. It wasn't a vicious attack. He deserves to be released and left in peace with the family who loves him.

Give the dog a break. He was just acting on his protective instincts. If the 15 year old had been an actual intruder the dog would be a hero.

This is crazy. This dog needs to be home with his family. People/animal relationships have changed over the years and the laws need to be changed also.

Why are actual criminals worthy of being treated with respect? They always get the benefit of the doubt no matter how heinous the crime or how frequently they commit crimes. Yet this dog attempted to protect a child (not realizing it was just a game) and his life is being threatened. I just don't get it.
