“I have a dream today! A dream that stretches from one end of this cruel, unjust gridiron to the other. I dream of a day where the heavy chains of arbitrary timing are broken! A day where the "three-second rule" imposed upon linemen is nothing more than a bad memory!
I dream of a future where we measure our success not by the ticking of an invisible clock, but by the sheer, unadulterated force of our immediate impact! A future where a pancake block served in 1.5 seconds is celebrated, not penalized! I have a dream that our speed will no longer be shackled by a rule designed to protect the timid! That we will rush the quarterback with the fury of a thousand suns, the instant the ball is snapped, without waiting for the permission of a stopwatch! I have a dream today! I have a dream today! A dream where we, the powerful linemen, are finally given the freedom to play the game with our full intensity! No longer held back by this rule that stifles our immediate intent. Let us never forget: we are the first line of defense, the first line of attack! We are the reason the game moves forward! So let freedom ring! Freedom from artificial delays! Freedom from the three-second tyranny! And when this happens, when we let that freedom ring, we will be able to speed up the day when all of the Palmetto Football League's players, the quarterbacks who need protection, the receivers who need time, and yes, even the linemen who need to just go will be able to join hands and celebrate a game played with immediate action and fierce competition. We will be free at last! Free at last! Thank the good Lord almighty, we are free from the three-second rule at last!”
