It is very disappointing that the Free Library has chosen a speaker who should be indicted for war crimes for a series that has otherwise been inspiring.

Blackwater was a criminal enterprise posing as a mercernary outsource. Congress had to authorize the Judge Advocate General to prosecute its members, because they fell outside the US Military Code of Justice.

Although I generally agree with the concept of presenting differing points of view, Erik Prince's beliefs and actions are simply beyond the pale of the acceptable in a pluralistic democracy. It would be far more appropriate for the Free Library to present a critic of Jeremy Scahill's strident views, who yet recognizes that Islamophobia, murder, and general thuggery are unacceptable methods for advancing our national self-defense.

I'm not opposed to differing viewpoints being presented by the Free Library, but Erik Prince is a dangerous, radical, anti-democratic and criminal profiteer.
To have him speak as part of the "Leading Voices" series helps to validate the darkest underbelly of what we consider "business!"

Please read the Jeremy Scahill writings about Blackwater as well as the Democracy Now programs on this mercenary organization. U.S. military occupations must be scrutinized, not lauded.

Philadelphia is the city of Brotherly Love, founded by peace loving Quakers, and is home to the Love statue. This mercenary does not share our values and has no business in this city. btw: if he does come I will perform a cleaning ritual over the weekend to purify the city from this evil taint.
