Hosam is a loyal and peaceful man who loves to help the volunteers in Abu Dis to enjoy their time there as much as possible. He never spoke of wanting to throw stones or fight and always kept well away from those activities. He told me of how he hopes to be a father one day. He is one of the kindest and most gentle people I know.
This madness cannot continue. Israel cannot keep kidnapping and detaining Palestinians who are innocent of any crime. People must shout until our leaders act.

Hosam Oraiba is one of the friendliest and most gentle kind natured human beings I have ever met, and I am honoured to be be his friend. It is a tragedy that he has been jailed for exercising his human right to peacefully protest, and I urge that he is released as a matter of urgency, and thereafter compensated fairly for the injustice done to him. Peaceful protest is a legal right protected by international law, and the arrest and continued detention of Hosam Oraiba is a breach of international law and must be rectified without delay.

People should be informed of the reason for their arrest, and should have the right to speedy justice. Israel continues to be its own worst enemy.
