The detective who put Evaristo in this situation needs to be held accountable ! When law enforcement abuses the public trust it seriously infects our system like a virus , a virus that not only continues to spread down through generations but can fester in people for ever. Until law enforcement is held to a higher standard then the general public this kind of thing will continue to damage our society . Along with holding them to a higher standard it would include much more harsh punishment for braking laws that they are sworn to uphold ! in cases like this we also need to realize that this detective was enabled by his negligent higher ranking officer ! Police departments , especially in small town America, will only be as good, efficient , and ethical as the commanding officer ! Never under estimate the power of the vote ! we pick our leaders. lets do our homework before putting these people in a position of power.

Sometimes the law is not right I think they should even prosecute the detective for providing information God knows how many other cases that man corrupted if he did it for his first case as detective he probably did if for other cases now that's not right

Evaristo, first I must say, I just watched that show "wrong man" on the starz channel and besides the injustice of your situation, I am amazed by your personality and determination ! iv seen so many of these shows and this is the first time I have seen someone as concerned about the injustice to the victims family as much as your own ! that is truly remarkable and it says so much about your character . We are not meant to understand the reasons behind the life our higher power has placed us but I belive that you are shining a bright light on some of the darkness in our world Evaristo. I am about 3 years older than you and I remember the gang explosion in small town America and especially in the Pacific northwest since growing up in Albany Oregon. I started to fall into some of it myself for a while but luckily found opportunity elsewhere before something serious happened. Some of my friends were not so lucky. I support you 110% and would like to find a way to correspond with you more. if this is all you read from me please, don't ever give up ! The evidence is clear. I wonder what the hold up is. A young boy has been robbed of his adolescence and what was left of his innocence - being put in the worst place ever for someone who doesn't belong there. For God sake - set him free already.

It's sad we live in a world where pride, making a name for yourself or made a mistake is more important than someones freedom. I hope charges are brough up on the detective who stole this young boys freedom. He may have been on a bad path at the time but no one deserves for there freedom to be wrongly taken away
