This is a disgusting miscarriage of justice. It's embarrassing that this is accepted and allowed in our justice system. Everyone should call, email and write the prosecutor about this. The prosecutor who is refusing a retrial is Joseph Brusic. The main number is 509-574-1210. His email address is [email protected] and his assistant is [email protected] 509-574-1300.
I'm having trouble finding the physical mailing address because the Yakima County website isn't working but it appears to be 128 N 2nd Street, Yakima WA 98901
You should also leave a review on the Yakima County page regarding this case. Maybe a flood of calls, emails and letters will get their attention.

This is why people don’t trust our system. Law enforcement could turn this around and do the right thing, but NO all corrupt!!!

Why have you not been granted a new trial? The prosecutor lied and informant Bill not only recanted, but he identified Ricardo in a photo as thanking him for getting him off. The wife knows Ricardo and got rid of the car before evidence could be gathered. A witness heard the wife yell Ricardo as the shooting occurred and identified the shooter as an adult about 30. Evaristo was railroaded and should be freed. He was convicted on the testimony of the victim’s wife who is protecting Ricardo and by informant Bill who has recanted. At the very least he deserves a new trial.

This is sad its obvious that this kid was convicted by a dirty cop the fact the current prosecutor is not charging this police officer is sad & I hope god does this to there child to see how it feels only then maybe we can start getting change in America

I just can not believe he’s still in there and it’s 2020. After I watched the show I have been searching trying to see if there is any update. This man has been in there since he was a boy for a crime he did not commit. I’m just disgusted by the things he had to go through. They neglected this boy and all of his rights. Something needs to be done!!!!

I watched the Starz documentary regarding the new investigation and believe the facts that Evaristo Salas is innocent and deserves a new trial based on new evidence information and testimony shown.

Utterly despicable people who have falsely blamed this young man. Case needs to be reopened and investigation into the girlfriend and the detective who falsified information.
