The league should not give into peer pressure from either side of the argument. Follow your rules and guidelines and your decision is a no brainer!

Here is a copy of the VEWL by laws - it clearly states on page 5 that there's 3 yrs of eligibility after 3rd grade. There is no mention of consecutive yrs! http://www.vewl.org/statsbylaws.pdf

Adults are the problem. Probably never any good at sports and they live through their kids. They want their kids to win with no competition. Everyone gets a trophy. Disgusting that they could even think of doing this to a 12 year old kid, especially for the reason he wants to get back into the league. Go Bug!

The boy isn't trying to win to prove he is the best he wants to honor the memory of a man who positively impacted his life. This is commendable coming from such a young man. What are you teaching our children by discouraging him from this? Let Bug wrestle!!!

Let him wrestle I wrestled 60lbs in first grade in that time you had to be in third grade my parents signed off they bent the rules I was wrestling 4th graders in first grade let's not forget these are kids keep the active and let them play its good for kids

Dagen's decision to return to the team and wrestle to honor his Coach seems like an honorable and important way for a kid to process a tragedy. To deny him that opportunity seems to be the epitome of poor sportsmanship, a terrible lesson for the other young wrestlers and downright cruel. I hope you are able to wrestle Bug - , and either way I'm sure Coach Joe is looking down and very proud of you.
