Return Free Public Access to La Jolla High School's Track and Field

I live next to the field. I can lock up at night which is when the field and grounds get abused. Give neighbors a chance!

What's next? Charging the junior olympics to use the track? Charging the students? Open it up to fee free use

Our taxes pay for our schools and the property should be available for our use when school is not in session.

For a High School that has received so many Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars in donations and gifts from the citizens of this community over the years for the swimming pool, buildings, equipment for a better learning environment and our active support of the students in so many other ways; Principal Podhorsky, appears not to believe in giving back to the community that has so generously given to and supported La Jolla High School, even in such a small way as sharing of the track & tennis courts. I truly used to enjoy often running with my daughter and later jogging with my young grandkids at the LJHS track early in the morning. This is sad and I wonder what the students of LJHS are learning about community, citizenship and civic responsibility from their Principal. COL Mike Hill (US Army Retired).

This is ridiculous...come on, La Jolla...do the right thing

Please reopen the Track and Tennis for neighborhoods use.

Please open the field back up.

I have lived in La Jolla for 41 years. The La Jolla High track and tennis courts have always been available to the public as a wonderful community resource. Let's bring down the wall!!

As a native La Jollan and founding member of the LJHS Alumni Association, your policy of restricted use discriminates against both residents and alumni. SDUSD is a PUBLIC school system that is open to all. La Jolla High is not a private school.

Please provide access for all of us. Dr. Anisman

Open the Track.

We have lived in La Jolla since 1968 and our two sons ran cross country and track at La Jolla High School. In the past we have donated regularly to the LJHS Foundation. I used to occasionally use the track for running and always tried to not only be respectful in my use of it, but also to clean up any trash left over from Friday night football games or others use of it. I am not inclined to further donate to LJHS when it now is shutting out the community. I hope that the principal will reconsider this short-sighted policy.

We put up with construction noise for 1 1/2 years, and we put up continuously with field noise and students who trash our sidewalks. Access to the track is a minimal payback.

I live on Westbourne Street and we constantly have to put up with the students' noise and trash. We try to be good neighbors and support the high school. The previous principals have always tried to be considerate to the community but Principal Pdohorsky obvious does not feel the same way.

The problem with schools in this state is they are at the mercy of teacher's unions. The unions force members to pay dues which they use to "buy" politicians and principals like this guy.

I'm hearing impaired/deaf, and find it unsafe to run on the sidewalks and streets of La Jolla as I've been hit by a car twice since the high school principle has closed the track to the community. Please open the track to help all of us, especially the hearing and visually impaired!

I live on Genter Street, just around the corner from La Jolla High. We locals already pay a lot to live in La Jolla. Public high schools are public property.

The track should be open for the public to use.
