He picks up a job at a cheese sandwich factory, and meets Mr. Davidson, a TV executive who promptly tells him that his ideas are ridiculous, and that he needs to invest a lot of work into honing his skills and ideas if he is to be successful. Gord returns home to do just that, meeting a negative reception from his abrasive father, Jim. Following sizable (hilarious) conflict between the two, Gord's family seek professional help to sort out their issues. Gord promptly lies that his father molests Gord's brother, Freddy, neglecting to mention that Freddy is 25. Jim is kicked out of the house, while Gord pulls together his masterpiece: "Zebras in America," a parody of his own family. Approaching Mr. Davidson in his office, Gord is pursued by an infuriated Jim. Davidson takes their conflict as an amusing prank, and green-lights Zebras in America immediately, for Gord's apparent originality.
