Never use Agarwal Packers & Movers

As I was transferred to Singapore by my organisation and had to shift my hoursehold goods, I though of the name that I had heard the most and they call themselves as “The Shifting Experts” viz @agarwalpackersandmoversin ( Agarwal Packers & Movers) and I guess that was teh biggest mistake I made.

I had first contacted @agarwalpackersandmoversin (Agarwal Packers & Movers - DRS Group) on 08th May 2016 and vide various mails told that there would be a cycle which need not be dismantled and alongwith them there could be 2 more cartons. Your representative told me that 1 carton would be approximately 27 Kgs and whilegiving the tentative list of articles the dimensions of the cycle were clearly provided to enable you to compute the volumetric weight and give a quotation. Even after having these complete details, the learned executive chose to give me a quote of only 90 kgs even though the volumentric weight of cycle itself was 75 kgs thus making the assumed weight on my baggage (as per my mail) 129 kgs (approx) hereby reflecting the organisation's laxity on reading the requirements of the prospective customer.

Secondly, the goods were collected from my house in Delhi on 10th May 2016 at 11:30 AM with 3 cartons and a cycle (again being told that the cycle is not to be dismantled). The cartons were packed and sealed at my house and the cheque as per the quotation from the company was duly handed over to the company’s representative. On 11th May at around 5:00pm (while on my way to airport) I received a call from the company saying that a revised quotation has been mailed to me for enhanced amount as there was an extra carton and the total weight is 175 kgs and not 90 kgs for which the earlier quotation was provided. (please be reminded that the earlier quotation was also provided after I had written the dimensions of the cycle and clearly stated non dismantling). It took SO BIG AND ESTEEMED COMPANY 24 hours to calculate the weight of 4 cartons. I told him that you knew about the cycle, so he tried to go hanky panky but then when I told that it is clearly written in my mail he was left with no option but to agree (second instance of excellent customer orientation of your company), still I agreed to the quotation without any delay.

On 13th of May when I enquired about the status of the shipment I was told to make the balance payment so that the company can process the shipment. This is told when I enquire, shouldn’t the company not tell me that since they have received less amount the company will not process my shipment. The company wasted my 4 days here. Again on 16th May 2016 I was told that I shall be provided with the Airwaybill Number by the evening, but that evening never came (actually I should have expected that too happen the way the company handles), the reason sighted for not providing the airway bill number was that the representative could not collect the balance payment from my Delhi address even though the same was to be collected on 15th May 2016. On 17thMay 2016, I was informed (after rigrous follow up) by Mr Sunil Chouhan of the company that the shipment would reach Singapore on 20th May 2016 and again on 20th May 2016 (not to mention again after rigrous follow up) that the shipment would reach me within next 2 days. Let alone reaching me the shipment was not even in Singapore in the next 2 days that followed. The shipment reached Singapore on 23rd May 2016 after a great lapse of 11 days if this delay was not enough the counter party of Agarwal Packers & Movers was given my India number to contact (my local number was already given at the time of handing the goods and was mention of the GC) and since the company here did not have my local number so they were not able to contact me for delivery. An finally when the goods were delivered on 30th May 2016, came the shock. The 4 cartons automatically converted into 3. The shipment which was supposed to be weighing 175 kgs was only 58.600 KGS (the POD mentions the weight), the cycle which was not to be dismantled was not only dismantled but broken and was rendered use less and few other articles went missing and the cartons in which the goods were delivered were also broked. It turned out that after collecting the goods from my house in a so called sealed cartons, the cartons were opened and repacked so as to reduce the weight and loot me in terms of baggage weight. Its worth mentioning that the amount that they had quoted would have definetly included their profit.

And the worst part is they do not respond to your queries till the time you pester them by sending the mails every hour then they respond as if like saying “ye to peeche hi pada hai, kuch bhi likh ke jawab do isko”.

I have claimed an amount from them but I am yet to receive a reply from them. So my request to whoever is reading this is please do not use the services of Agarwal Packers & Movers or you might also have to bear the same fate as I had to like be without essential goods in new place and among new people.
