While I understand the benefits of changing for middle and high schools students. The negative implications this would have on families with young children are concerning.

The additional impact on the elementary school child along with the negative impact on high school sports just to name a few reasons are why this idea is absurd. Many families can’t afford the financial impact and this idea is geared towards single income families.

Completely rearranging the public school schedules and after school schedules for possibly 50 minutes of additional sleep time for high schoolers. Not worth it! This would negativly impact so many working families who are relying on older siblings for child care. Our middle school population will have more unsupervised time. Our high schoolers will spend more late nights gaming and streaming. This will not improve anything, only inconvenience so many families.

I am very concerned with the proposed time change fore middle school. The chances of losing great teachers and after school clubs is concerning. Also scheduling after school appointments and outside activities will become very challenging , not to mention later times to get to homework.

I am opposed to the proposed time change. It should be up to the parents to ensure their kids get enough sleep.

The changes to middle school start/end times are ridiculous - 95 minutes later???

I am opposed to changing the start times. I am concerned about the lack of consideration given to working parents. I also concerned about the impact an earlier start will have on elementary age students.

I am opposed to the change in school start times because it will negatively impact many families and affect after school activities and sports. It will create a need for many families to look for childcare for before and after school. I feel that the cons far outweigh any pros in this situation.
