I think it is absolutely ridiculous to get rid of the Franklin Cafe for another stupid gas station.

Let’s keep our small town charm! Diners that are open hours that working people can eat! Not just retirees! And there are way more than enough gas stations!!!

Sure hope this is legit & the restaurant CAN be saved. Franklin has allowed so many historic sites taken down & replaced with metal buildings to the point we have little left that gives the "Old Town Feel" :-( When tourism come into play, people ENJOY going to the small towns that have a feel of "the old days" along with the specialty shops & hometown entertainment. I moved here 51 years ago from Miami plus a summer resident since I was almost 15. In my 20's, I wanted to live out my life in that old time feel. Just sad to see that so much of our town has become again, has been torn down & replaced with metal buildings taking away from the beauty of the past that attracts folks to visit & enjoy...NO MORE GAS STATIONS IN THE MIDDLE OF TOWN PLEASE!!!

The City restaurant was a staple in macon county. Once establishments like this and the Normandy is gone Franklin loses its small town charm. There is not much left that makes Franklin it's own. The town has changed alot over the past 20 years. That change has shift to more corporate vs staying local. Keep Franklin local and small town small.

If tourism is considered positive. This diner is definitely a plus! I am not a native but parttime resident. Would really hate to see a 50+ yr contributor to Franklin history be lost for yet another gas station. Sadly my home city is now barely recognizable today. FYI
