This would be a worthy memorial to a selfless and loving human being.

Out of all of the books and series of books I have read in my life, the Dune series is the one that has stuck with me most. Frank Herbert was so descriptive in his writing that the images still play in my head today. Great idea as far as I am concerned.

Frank is my second cousin on my mothers side of my family. my mother LaRene (Herbert) Cayo's father was Frank Jr.s brother. Frank was aperson very derserving of this honor.

An old favourite of mine, I've always felt Herbert never received the recognition some of his contemporaries enjoyed. His science fiction is thought-provoking, inspiring, and original. Given the subject matter of so many of his books, naming a park for him would be appropriate. Let's hope giant retributive insects don't spring from the park and attack our civilization!

I have been a huge fan of Frank Herbert for years, and have been influenced by him in my own writings. His son Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson have likewise been moved to continue the sagas of this man and towards their own works, Frank has been a pioneer for so many other people as well. My own work is coincidentally set near where he was raised and where he worked, this is a tribute to one of America's greatest creators of stories. Dune, among other books, shed a relevant light on the wonders of the imagination as well as revealing parallels of our own world. As the author of sci-fi's equivalent to Lord of the Rings, this park is a great tribute to a man who believed deeply in the profound importance and preservation of this planet's ecology. Thank you all for this consideration! He would be humbled and gratified for it.
