I am so disappointed at the way father Michael has been treated in such a narrow minded way , father Michael has done an amazing job in the community and the church would be so sad to see him leave , as all my family love father Micheal as a priest and has gone above and beyond his duties to help our community. Father Michael has brought the young generation back to the Greek church which is lovely to see as this wasn’t happening in the past . As a Greek Orthodox I have been taught to love and forgive .

Dear Archbishop Gregorios, I had the pleasure of meeting Father Michael 3 years ago through a mutual friend, during this time I feel I have got to know him very well and find him to be a genuine and honourable man. I was so impressed by his passion for his Vocation as a priest, his church and community. During this time, I have met a number of his community members and the love and respect from all was obvious to see. As a man who was brought up practising no faith I always felt something was missing from my life and I’m in the process of having Catechism from him to be able to be baptised Christian Orthodox. The news that father Micheal was no longer going to be the Priest has left me shocked, confused and devastated not just for me but also for the upset caused in the community as a whole. I can’t even think that in today’s world a man like father Michael would not be anything other than treasured. He is undoubtedly meant to be a Priest and for such a young man he has so much to offer in this cynical world. Father Micheal has helped change me as a man as I’m sure he has helped and guided countless other souls, this world needs people like father Michael. We need people like Father Micheal. He has brought the whole community together, we all have a sense of belonging. He has filled our hearts with warmth and love. After all isn’t this what it’s all about? Doesn’t Christianity teach us to love, shelter and forgive? I respectfully ask that you do everything possible to restore this righteous man back to the position of Priest for the Leeds community.
