Transparency is of the upmost importance, whether determined to be a threat or not. HCSB this isn't your Schools this is our schools and we demand prompt communication and transparency.

I attended the meeting on 4/11 the lack of information provided is stunning, especially after the police report was made public. The superintendent very matter of factly announced this teacher had been returned to the classroom as there was no reason to keep them away. Transgenderism is a form of mental illness, this is not something our young students need to be exposed to. Teachers should keep their personal lives personal and not be sharing their sexual habits with their students.

The Administration failed to protect students, faculty & staff by not alerting authorities AND a psych crisis unit for the teacher who was in a mental health crisis. We have Red Flag Laws in FL for this very reason! The failure to ACT until this past Thursday when the incident occurred March 23 is unacceptable. I also see a need to revise the Baker Act Law! If someone expresses self harm and having bad thoughts and says they want to shoot people, they need psychiatric evaluations! We have a mental health crisis in America! I’d also like to see HIPAA and FERPA revised to alert parents of adult children when they express suicidal ideation, attempts, or are Dx with a serious mental illness. Also parents need to be made aware of these adult children Izf they go off medications or stop psychiatric treatment! FL has the AOT program yet it’s seldom used!!!! Use it!

Having a threatening teacher around children is a powder keg! Unacceptable! The covering it up, UNACCEPTABLE.
WE THE PARENTS DEMAND ALL INVOLVED ARE FIRED WITH NO CHANCE TO BE AROUND CHILDREN AGAIN.
WHAT MORE WOULD ANYONE NEED TO REMOVE THIS PERSON?

Something needs to be done to bring order into this county. It’s really getting out of control. Parents need to know that their children are safe and the school board members/superintendent in question don’t seem to understand the severity of the situation at hand.

When a school district does not remove a potential threat to children and offer mental health services to an employee in need, it's time to remove the board and replace it.
