Hoping my support doesn’t run afo(w)l, as I’m not chicken to put my name on this. Seriously, though, we live in the country how can we be anti home farming?

4-H is a great organization for our youth. Chickens also can supply meat and eggs for families.

I see no reason why having chickens as pets harms anyone.

Changes to ordinances and regulations should always follow the proper procedures regarding the number of readings for public notification. The regulations set forth regarding kenneled animals should not be an exception. Providing exceptions, limits the notice to the public, and therefore minimizes the options they have available to respond to items.

It would have been nice if you would have consulted the people who live here before making a decision on based on 1 (?) complaint. People want control of their food supply and that's why we moved here. Even Chicago allows chickens! Let us do what we want on our property.

I support the right to raise fowl in our community.

after the huge hike in assessments and property taxes we should be able to do whatever we want on our property... we are the people paying for the school, fire dept and whatever else the town decides it wants to do with taxpayer dollars.. I think a couple of chickens in someone's yard is their own business - not the town board... as long as the chickens are kept out of neighboring yards - it shouldn't be an issue.

We are a rural community and we should be allowed to discuss these matters and come to a conclusion that promote being good neighbors

I have lived in Wheatland for 6 years and love it but every other surrounding town allows fowl on a residential property so we should be no different here. Any debate on this topic is a waste of everyone’s time.

Most homeowners that own a large plot of land want to enjoy it with their animal friends. Not sure how this can be passed so quickly without discussion.

This is rediculous!! I’ve never in my life heard of lack of education as this! If one property is stinking than warn them than fine them than make them get rid of them in a timely manner. You don’t tell someone they can have one animal but not another of the same size. Dogs can stink just as much! Use your brain people!!!

This is rediculous!! If there is any foul smells coming from any properties than warn than fine than make them get rid of them it’s that easy it makes the city money if they can’t abide! Never heard of such lack of education!

Rural deserves the right to have country animals, its a farming community, it’s not downtown metro !! Support your rural area!
