I wish I had known about this petition earlier, as I would’ve signed it much sooner. I think 4 days a week is a beneficial and needed schedule change. It helps in many areas and with help from members in the community to others, there really shouldn’t be any negatives; as we can help with donating food for food insecurity in minors, volunteer to babysit for those who work Friday’s, and hopefully those that work outside the classrooms and need the income, could help do stuff within the schools on Monday-Thursday, Friday’s, or even weekends or even make more hourly, since they would be working less. Things are so much different today than they were when I grew up and with those drastic changes, I think we need to ensure we make our own drastic changes that help reduce mental health issues and other problems students face. If we do not, we may cause more problems than good. I know both my kids would be much happier on a 4 day a week schedule, as last year my son had to miss his physical education constantly, plus, it’s often a needed recoup of rest. I wish we’d known Carlin did 4 days a week, as we may moved went there instead of Elko.

I believe with our community work schedule as distances to travel for sports and personal appointments this could be a good thing to save out county and it’s residence if done correctly, on many levels.

Thank you for bringing this issue to the public eye. A four day week is much more practical for Elko/Spring Creek students, their families, and school faculty. Good luck at the school board meeting! :)

It would be nice for my kids playing soccer to not have to worry about missed school work.

i feel like 5 days a week is so draining and things are happening the day before the weekend so kids won’t be there as much
