Hydration is a serious issue for all students on the SMU campus, from athletes trying to stay in top form to the average student trying to avoid dehydration. In a moment of poor planning, the new residence commons (Loyd, Armstrong, Crum, Kathy Crow, and Ware) were constructed with only a single water fountain on the first floor. This is a serious inconvenience for the roughly 1,250 students which call these residential commons home. Other commons across campus were built with a water fountain on every floor allowing easy access to drinking water for every student. This petition is to notify the school administration of our concern over this aspect of the new residential commons and to call for action on this issue.
