DNR- listen to the people of the area and give them a chance to make this work. Let them run it like a course should be run!

From all that I've heard and read, the DNR has provided numerous deficit amounts with no accountability as to how they reached each number. I ask that an extension of time is given to provide audited figures so that the numbers are accurate and not just whatever number the DNR wants to publicize to make it look like it should close. This golf course brings much more than golfing to the area. It draws people to the history of Fort Ridgely, leisure walks, exercise (I myself lost 20 lbs golfing last season), time with family, etc. There must be a hidden agenda of the DNR if even thou a question was brought to them that if someone donated the deficit would it still close and they said YES. It's not the money it's more than that. Please help save Fort Ridgely Golf Course and all that the state park brings to Minnesota.

This is a great asset to this area and would be a shame to see it go. If they are looking for a unique recreation activity they are overlooking what is already there! Consider adding FootGolf for added recreation!

Growing up near fort ridgely, it would be a travesty to close it! So many good memories there and many more left tone made!

We live north of Kimball. We will drive down for an afternoon just to golf. We also camp at the dirt at least 2-4 times per summer!

I am really hoping you keep the Fort going, as once you take the golf course what is next we in rural mn would like nearby places to do things also every thing is 25 to 100 miles away and don't always want to travel that far time wise. Every thing we have had at the Fort i.e. the cannons went to the ? cities? and are probably in storage even so why did they move them isit is part of the Fort let the small towns have something we are dieing slowly and don't need your help!
And I'm not sure how HUtchinson got up there as it should say Fairfax, Mn.

Even if I'm not a golfer, I think it's important to save it. It's part of history. It's a beautiful course, that I've seen many people of all ages enjoying.

Walk the course, by yourself, with children, with your dog on leash, or in the winter by snow shoeing as I do!

Fort Ridgely is a unique State Park not only for its historical value but for having a beautiful golf course that can be used by both serious and non-serious golfers...and those who don't golf but just want to walk the course and enjoy the outdoors!
