My wife and I have been members of the Fort Ridgely golf course for years. We love it. Shutting it down makes no sense at all. Makes you wonder what the real DNR agenda is. Maybe buy more bison.

The park belongs to the people-not the DNR. We do not want to become a day park, this park is over 100 yrs old and deserves better

The golf course is what brings us to that campground. Give it a chance with the new updates and $$$$ spent now that all roads to the park are open.

Recently golfed at Fort Ridgely and watch a turkey fly through a ravine and saw many bluebirds through the course. Keep this golf course open!

We were informed by the Friends of Fort Ridgely and frequent visitors that the maintenance of the park is being neglected. Showers have not worked for two years, amount of grass cutting in the picnic areas has been "cut back"!! Winter activities are no longer available. Park officials are there only 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Can't bring in money that way!!!!This beautiful historic park has been put on a list that does not promote maintenance that is necessary to keep visitors coming back. This park has something to offer for all ages: history, hiking, camping, fishing, golfing, bird watching and precious family time in the great outdoors. Governor Dayton please help us keep Fort Ridgely the gem it is. Carol Guggisberg

Please delay the decision to close Fort Ridgley Golf Course to give us the taxpayers along with the Friends of Fort Ridgley time to gather more info re cost to maintain course and possible alternatives to help keep the course open.
